Ask anyone in Boerne where to get a cold beer and a game of pool, and sooner or later they’ll point you to the Longbranch.

For more than half a century, this limestone building on North Main has been the town’s gathering place. It’s the oldest bar in Boerne, and it still feels like it. Regulars know each other by name, the bartenders remember your order, and newcomers are made to feel at home.

The old sign out front still reads Saloon & Dance Hall, and that’s exactly what you’ll find inside.

The front room

The bar

The front room centers on a three-sided wooden bar lined with high-backed stools, lit by stained-glass lamps and strings of lights. Pool tables, dart boards and the jukebox fill out the room. Roll up the garage door and the room opens onto the gravel patio.

The dance hall

Through the doorway is the back room, with a stage, a dance floor and the Longbranch’s signature fixture: a chandelier built from upturned blue glass bottles. It’s where the karaoke happens, where bands play, and where private events take over for the night.
